Sawai Madhopur : Mahila Police Station of Sawai Madhopur has arrested an accused of rape. Police have arrested Vinod Kumar Gupta (46), son of Banwari Lal Jindal, resident of Raghunathpura Hall, district Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh.
Female police station officer Sumer Singh said that as per the instructions of IG Bharatpur Range, a campaign is being conducted to arrest the criminals wanted for crimes against women and children. A woman had lodged a rape report in the women’s police station. In this, the woman told that the accused made her acquaintance by continuously calling her from unknown numbers. After which he was called to Sawai Madhopur on the pretext of meeting and where he was given intoxicant in cold drink. When he was intoxicated, he was taken to a hotel on Ranthambore Road.
The accused raped her in the hotel. Under the direction of SP Mamta Gupta, ASP Omprakash Meena formed a team under the supervision of SIUCAW under the leadership of the police station officer. The formed team continuously raided the desired locations to arrest the accused. With the information of the informer and the help of the technical team, the police team arrested the accused Vinod Kumar.
