According to astrologers, devotees worship Lord Shiva with all their heart in the month of Shravan. In this month, after Lord Vishnu goes to Patal Lok, Lord Shiva takes over his duties. After Devshayani Ekadashi, Shravan month begins on 22nd July and will continue till 19th August. This year the importance of Shravan month increases because this year Shravan month is starting on Monday in Shravan Nakshatra and Sarvarth Siddhi Yoga. Baba is adorned in a new form everyday
Special prayers are offered during the month of Shravan at Manihara Mahadev Temple, the main Shiva temple of Baran city. There is a continuous flow of devotees at the temple during the month of Shravan. During the month of Shravan, along with the special decoration of Mahadev, aarti is performed three times at the temple. Aarti of Mahadev is performed daily between 4 to 5 in the morning and between 7 to 8 in the evening. Aarti is also performed at night during the month of Shravan. Mahadev will be decorated in different forms every day.
