Jaisalmer : All schools up to class 12 will remain closed on Monday in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The District Collector has issued an order to keep the schools closed in view of the warning of heavy rain in the district. However, teaching staff and other employees will be present in the school at the scheduled time. Action will be taken against those who violate the order.
All schools are closed on Monday
On Sunday, the education officer issued an order saying that the weather department has issued an alert for heavy rain in Jaisalmer. In such a situation, keeping in mind the safety of the students from heavy rain and their health, a holiday has been declared on Monday i.e. 5th August for students from class 1 to 12 in all government and non-government schools of the district. During this time, the academic and non-academic staff of the school will ensure their presence at the scheduled time.
Anganwadi centers will also remain closed
The order further said that action will be taken against government and non-government schools that disobey these instructions. Apart from this, in another order of the Women and Child Development Department, a holiday has been declared on Monday in all the Anganwadi centers of Jaisalmer.
Heavy rain in many districts including Jaisalmer
In the last 24 hours, many places in the state received heavy rainfall. Jaisalmer, Barmer, Jalore, Sirohi, Dungarpur, and Ajmer received heavy to very heavy rainfall. Eastern Rajasthan recorded the highest rainfall. Ajmer recorded 102mm rainfall. Gudamalani, Barmer in western Rajasthan recorded 89mm rainfall. After heavy rainfall, the threat of floods has started looming in many districts.
