Jodhpur : Ravana’s in-laws house was located in Jodhpur city of Rajasthan, where it is said that there is a historical place in front of Mandore railway station of the city, where Ravana and Mandodari took seven rounds. This place is today is also present, and is known as the wedding venue of Ravana. It is said that Mandodari was a resident of Mandore. However, no mythological or historical basis for this claim has yet been found. But this site remains an important part of the historical and cultural heritage of Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
There is also a temple of Ravana in Jodhpur district of Rajasthan, where Ravana is worshipped. In the temple here, the burning of Ravana on Vijayadashami is celebrated not with joy but with mourning. This temple of Ravana is in the premises of Amarnath Mahadev Temple located on Fort Road. It is said that the idol of Ravana was legally installed in this temple in the year 2008. It is also said that after Ravana Dahan in the evening, the families of Dave Godha descendants took bath and wore the new Yagyopavit.
Pandit Kamlesh Kumar Dave of the temple told that Ravana (Ravana) Dave was from Godha gotra, hence at the time of Ravana Dahan, even today the families belonging to his gotra do not watch Ravana Dahan and all the families come together and mourn. Along with this, there is also a temple of Mandodari near the idol of Ravana. From then till today, Ravana and Mandodari are worshiped on every Vijayadashami.

Chawari of Ravana is under the tourism department. And people from all over the country and abroad come here to see this place. It is said in the Puranas that there is no mention of Ravana’s Chawari. A shaped stepwell is built near Chawari. It is said that this stepwell was constructed in the seventh century, since then it is known as Sumnohara. Near the stepwell, there are also Ashta Mata and Ganesh idols in the chawari of Ravana Mandodari marriage.
According to legends, Mandodari was the princess of Mandore and the daughter of Mayasura and his wife Hema. Later she married Ravana and became the queen of Lanka. It is obvious that Mandore is named after Mandodari. The residents of Mandore especially the Mudgil and Dave Brahmins consider themselves descendants of Ravana. The history of Mandore begins from the fourth century. On the basis of some letters in Gupta script, Nagvanshi kings ruled in Mandore. Mandore- This was the ancient capital of Marwar which was known as ‘Mandavpur’. This was Mandore, the old capital of the Rathore dynasty of Marwar. It is said that earlier this place was ruled by Inda Rajputs. The palaces built by the kings are also in a ruined state here. It is also said that Mandavya had renounced his kingdom and performed penance here. In modern times, there is also a beautiful garden in Mandore. In which ‘Ajit Pol’, ‘Devatas ki Saal’ and ‘Viron ka Dalan’, temple, stepwell, ‘Zanana Mahal’, ‘Ek Thamba Mahal’, canal, lake and memorials of various Maharajas of Jodhpur have also been built. It is also the palace of the Maharajas of Jodhpur and Marwar and an ancient fort dating back to the 4th century.
