Selection of best weavers for Jhalawar Weaver Award Scheme

Jhalawar : the best weavers of the district have been selected under the District Level Weaver Award Scheme. In this, applications of 10 applicants have been submitted along with their manufactured products. Whereas to select for the award, a meeting has been organized in the Mini Secretariat on Wednesday evening under the chairmanship of District Collector Ajay Singh Rathore.

General Manager of District Industry and Commerce Centre, Amritlal Meena said that the applications of 10 applicants for the Weaver Award were received along with the products made by them, on this the first prize was given by the committee to weaver Sujanmal, son of Hazarilal for Gagroni Tota Saree. Selected and Kaluram son of Rodulal was selected for Kurti for the second prize. Whereas the first and second prize winners will be given prize money of Rs 5100 and Rs 3100. Dhapu Bai wife Panchad was selected for the third prize and Geeta Bai wife Hiralal and Manju Bai wife Bhagwan Singh were selected for two consolation prizes. Prize money of Rs 2100 and Rs 1100 will be given for the third and consolation prizes.

The Weaver Award will encourage the weavers of the district to do handicraft work. In Jhalawar district, good work is being done in the field of handicrafts in Asnawar, Bakani, Manoharthana and Jhalrapatan areas. First and second prize winners will also be given an opportunity to participate in the state level weaving competition for the year 2024-25.
