Bundi : A case of assault on an assistant engineer of Talera Panchayat Samiti of Bundi has come to light in Rajasthan. In which two BJP workers have been accused of slapping the assistant engineer. It is being told that both the youths were putting pressure on the engineer in the name of forcibly passing the bill for the development work. When he refused, he slapped the assistant engineer.
Here the Assistant Engineer has submitted a report at Dabi police station and action has been registered. After which the police have also registered a case against both the accused for obstructing government work. After this incident, there is anger among the officers and employees associated with the Panchayat Samiti. Along with this, the victim assistant engineer has submitted a report to Bundi District Council Chief Executive Officer Ravi Verma and demanded action with immediate effect.
Went to evaluate government work
Victim Assistant Engineer Ramesh Meghwal told that I am posted as Assistant Engineer in Taleda Panchayat Samiti. Village Development Officer of Dora Panchayat, Narendra Kumar K took me and Junior Technical Assistant Engineer Deepak Aggarwal with him to get the evaluation and physical verification of the construction works done under various schemes in Dora Panchayat. After which the development officer stopped in the Panchayat citing the reason of being busy in development works in the Panchayat.

The Assistant Engineer further said that after this the Development Officer introduced me and Junior Technical Assistant Deepak Aggarwal to Gram Panchayat contractors Pappulal and Arpit for verification of the development works. After this we started investigating the works which were recorded in the book. In which the State Finance Commission had deployed 15 motors at various places. Out of which two were not found at the work site. Similarly, when Mahatma Gandhi went to the area to inspect the gravel roads sanctioned under NREGA, the work was not completed on time nor was the work done as per the rules. The road was made by laying only gravel.
Bills were being passed forcibly
Ramesh Meghwal further said that when we came to know about this poor construction, we asked for the road to be rebuilt. After which the contractor refused to build the road and asked you to pass the bill for the road. After this, when I refused to pay the bill, Pappu Lal and Arpit abused me, beat me and slapped me. Along with this, he threatened to kill me and said to act accordingly. Which I have reported in Dabi police station.
Police is investigating the matter
In this entire matter, Additional Superintendent of Police Uma Sharma said that Taleda Panchayat Samiti’s Assistant Engineer Ramesh Meghwal had given a report at Dabi police station. Based on this report, the case has been registered and a case has been registered against two people. Investigation is being done and whatever action is taken will be taken as per law.
Meanwhile, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ravi Verma said that Assistant Engineer Ramesh Chandra Meghwal had appeared in the chamber and lodged a complaint. Which has been sent to the concerned police station. It was told in the report that when he had gone to take stock of the development works, some youth present there beat him up and after the fight, everyone fled from there.
