Rajasthan : With the effect of cold winds reducing, a change in the minimum temperature is visible in Sikar, Churu and Jhunjhunu of Shekhawati. Today the minimum temperature in Fatehpur, Sikar has reached the freezing point. According to Fatehpur Agricultural Research Centre, today’s minimum temperature has been recorded at -1.0 degrees. Due to the drop in minimum temperature in the district, dew and water drops were seen frozen in the form of a layer of ice in the fields and open areas. The water kept in the utensils also appeared to be turning into ice.
Possibility of crop damage due to frost
Due to changes in the minimum temperature of Sikar, the life of common people has also changed. People are taking help of warm clothes and bonfire in the morning and night. People who go out in the morning are also leaving their homes late. According to weather experts, there is a possibility of damage to the crop due to frost due to reduced wind speed and drop in minimum temperature in the last week of December and first week of January.
Cold wave alert in 11 cities
The temperature went below 10 degrees Celsius in 15 cities of the state. Cold wave alert has been issued in 11 cities. According to Fatehpur Agricultural Research Centre, the minimum temperature recorded in Fatehpur of Sikar is 1.0 degree Celsius. There has been a huge drop of 2.2 degrees in the minimum temperature in Sikar, due to which the severity of winter is also increasing in the area. To protect themselves from cold, people are also resorting to warm clothes, bonfires and hot beverages. The Meteorological Department has also predicted a drop in the minimum temperature in the next few days.

Winter continues in Mount Abu
The minimum temperature in Barmer and Jaisalmer has dropped by 2 degrees Celsius each. The minimum temperature of both the cities has been recorded at 8.2 degrees Celsius. The outbreak of winter continues in Mount Abu of Sirohi district. Like Manali, people in Mount Abu have started shivering due to cold. The minimum temperature of Mount Abu has been recorded at 4.4 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of Manali has reached 1 degree Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature of Mount Abu may also go down by 1 degree Celsius in the third and fourth week of December.
