Jaipur : Be it college or home or office…safe movement of women and girls has become difficult. The obscene act of a cab driver in Ram Nagar of Sodalala has shamed everyone. The cab stopped near two girls going from here. The driver was wearing only a shirt and started asking the girls to sit in the vehicle while making obscene gestures. Shocked by the act of the accused, both the girls changed their route. The fearless accused stopped the cab a little ahead of the girls. He got down from the car and started doing obscene acts in public. His act was captured in a CCTV camera installed nearby. Both the girls went through a street and after reaching the office, informed their officer about the incident. Later, they reached Sodalala police station and reported to a policeman present there. But even after giving the report, no action was taken against the accused.
After a month on Wednesday some people met the Sodalala police station officer and he expressed ignorance about the incident. The SHO immediately sent a team to the accused’s house to catch him through the address and location given by the people. Accused Naushad Ahmed, resident of Gulabi Vihar on Sirsi Road was arrested for disturbing the peace. A case was registered by the victim girl. The accused will be arrested after investigation. People became angry after seeing the footage. The obscene act of the accused was captured in the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the area, seeing which people became angry. When no action was taken against the accused even after a month, they reached the police station on Wednesday. When a complaint was made to the police station officer, action was taken against the accused. People also gave the police the address of the accused’s house through his cab number.
I remembered the incident of Maharani College
In June 2022, a car driver had similarly committed a dirty act in front of the girl students outside Maharani College. The accused had been following the girl students for six months. Two girl students showed courage and made a video of the accused’s act, then the Lalkothi police station arrested the accused Mohammad Yusuf, a resident of Girdharipura Kachchi Basti. This was a serious matter and the accused was arrested as soon as it came to light. The victim’s statement under 164 will be recorded in the court on Friday.
