Sikar News Desk: The main accused has been arrested in the case of cash theft by cutting the ATM machine with a gas cutter. The police had placed a reward of Rs 5,000 on the accused.
Sikar Kotwali police station said – On December 31, 2023, at around 2.30 am, the police control room received information that the ATM of SBI Bank located on Bajaj Road was being tampered with. When we reached the spot, the ATM was on fire. The police called the fire brigade and extinguished the fire. The thief had escaped after cutting the ATM with a gas cutter and stealing the cash.
Bolero without number seized
Police inspected the spot and started investigation and formed a team to arrest the accused. Meanwhile, the police arrested the accused Maroof, Vicky, Rahul Saini, Bhupesh Saini in the case on 9 January 2024. The police also seized the numberless Bolero vehicle used in the crime from the possession of the accused and also recovered the cash withdrawn from the ATM. At the same time, the main accused of this incident was still out of police custody. On which the police had declared a reward of Rs 5 thousand.
Accused on remand for four days
During this time information was received that the main accused of the case was about to come to his village. After which the police team became alert and camped in the village of the accused and arrested him. The arrested accused has been identified as Shaukat Ali (29), resident of Bhiwadi, Alwar. The accused has been taken on police remand for four days. At present the police is busy investigating the matter.
