Sikar : Canal Lao Sangharsh Samiti on Monday submitted a memorandum to Collector Mukul Sharma in the name of PM Narendra Modi and CM Bhajanlal Sharma regarding bringing Yamuna water to Shekhawati. In the memorandum, a demand has been raised for signing an MoU with Haryana to bring Yamuna water to Sikar division and its immediate implementation. It was told that on 17 February 2024, a bilateral MOU was signed between the Governments of Rajasthan and Haryana under the leadership of the Central Government.
In this, the Rajasthan Government in collaboration with the Haryana Government had to prepare the DPR within four months i.e. by 17th June and submit it to the Central Water Commission for approval, but due to the elections, no work has been done by the government till now. Now a demand has been made to prepare DPR soon and provide water to Rajasthan’s share. Those who gave the memorandum included Puranmal Sunda, President of Chaudhary Charan Singh Vikas Sansthan, Narendra Dhayal, Patron of Jat Samaj Sansthan, Sanwar Mal Muwal, President of Veer Tejaji Seva Sansthan, Abhinav Jakhar, Ramavatar Khichad, Jagdish Saini, Birbal Singh Piprali, Ramchandra Arya Piprali, Chokha. Ram Burdak, Govardhan Hooda, Manoj Mangwa, Shivdayal Mile etc. were included.
