Sirohi News Desk: On the lines of nurseries of Sirohi Forest Department, nurseries will now be developed in all the gram panchayats of the state. With this, Panchayats will become self-reliant in the work of plantation and will get freedom from dependence on the Forest Department. Villages will also become green due to tree plantation. Villagers will be encouraged to protect the environment. This work will be done under Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme under Hariyalo Rajasthan. Approval has been given for nurseries in 154 out of 170 panchayats in Sirohi district. Since such nurseries already existed in 16 panchayats, new approval was not given.
5 thousand saplings will be prepared in each nursery- Each Panchayat will get about Rs 4.5 lakh for the construction of a nursery. In each nursery, 5 thousand plants of medicinal, fruit, shade trees etc. species will be grown. During the rainy season, these saplings will be planted at government offices, rivers, ponds and other places in the Panchayat area and distributed to the villagers. Employees will be hired to take care of the nursery.

With the facility of nursery at Panchayat level, healthy plants will be available to the farmers to plant on their fields nearby. Villagers will not have to visit distant nurseries to get plants for gardening at home. There will be no shortage of plants for plantation in large numbers in public parks, gardens and industrial areas. Panchayat will also earn.
