Ajmer : In the Sub Inspector Recruitment-2021 paper leak case, on Monday afternoon, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of SOG reached Rajasthan Public Service Commission here with suspended member Babulal Katara, former member Ramuram Raika, his son Devesh and daughter Shobha. In the presence of Katara, his chamber and cupboard were inspected. After this, after verifying the spot in the commission from Raika, Devesh and Shobha, a report was prepared by interrogating in three phases on other points including meeting the accused of the paper leak gang, handing over the sealed paper. The SIT interrogated Katara till late night. It is believed that apart from the paper leak in Sub Inspector Recruitment 2021, Katara is also being thoroughly investigated about other recruitments.
At one o’clock in the afternoon, the Special Investigation Team officers constituted by SOG brought the suspended member of the Commission, Babulal Katara. Here, in the presence of Deputy Superintendent of Police Rudra Prakash Sharma and Ajmer Subdivision Officer Apoorva Parwal, the locks of Katara’s room and cupboards in RPSC were opened. The documents found in Katara’s room and cupboard were listed and seized. A key maker was called to open the lock of Katara’s room. After a long wait, the locks of Katara’s room could be opened.
At 3 pm, the SOG team reached the commission in separate vehicles with former RPSC member Ramuram Raika, his son Devesh and daughter Shobha, who were arrested in the Sub Inspector-Platoon Commander Recruitment-2021 case. Here, the three were first made to verify Katara’s room and interrogation center on the ground floor of RPSC. Before this, Katara was also brought to the interrogation center. Before the arrival of the SIT, Civil Lines Police Station Incharge Chhotelal was present at the commission with the police force.
Katara’s chamber opened
The SIT called a key maker to open the locks of the sealed rooms and cupboards of Katara located on the first floor. The accused were questioned for about 10 hours on various points including getting the Sub Inspector recruitment paper made from Katara, keeping it in a sealed envelope, delivering the paper to the accused before the examination, meeting the accused Anil Kumar alias Sher Singh Meena, Bhupendra Saran, Suresh Kumar Sao, Peeraram, Vijay Damor, Pukhraj, Anita Kumari and Arun Sharma during the examination, transactions etc. The SIT has got important clues from Katara’s chamber and cupboard.
Made face to face with Raika family
As per the information, SIT brought Ramuram, Shobha and Devesh face to face from Katara. SIT questioned Raika and her children about getting the Sub Inspector recruitment paper from Katara before the exam, giving the paper to Devesh and Shobha and keeping themselves away from the exam. Ramuram Raika and Shobha who were brought here were seen trying to avoid the camera while Devesh remained seated normally. At 5 pm, SIT left for Jaipur with Ramuram Raika, Devesh and Shobha while Katara was interrogated in the commission room till late night.
…nothing will happen without me
SOG asked for the key to search the cupboard in Katara’s room in the commission but neither Katara gave the key nor the commission provided the key. SOG called a key maker to open the lock from outside. The key maker was stopped by the policemen at the main gate of the commission. He pleaded a lot. The policemen posted at the entrance allowed him entry only after getting permission from inside.

-Before this, Raika’s residence at Jaipur Road was verified.

In the paper leak case of Senior Teacher Recruitment 2022, SOG arrested Babulal Katara, the dismissed driver of the commission, Gopal Singh and nephew Vijay Katara on 18 April 2023. Even after about one and a half years, Katara could not be dismissed in this case, while driver Gopal Singh was dismissed on 8 April. After the rigging in the Sub Inspector Recruitment Examination 2021 was exposed, former commission member Ramram Raika, who was arrested, confessed that he had obtained the paper from commission member Babulal Katara for his son Devesh and daughter Shobha. Katara himself provided him the paper at his residence. The investigation team reached the commission with Babulal Katara and Ramuram Raika, his children for questioning and spot verification. The documents related to the recruitment examination found in Katara’s cupboard are being investigated.
