Sambhal, 26 November (IANS). After the violence that broke out during the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid in Sambhal on Sunday, the situation has started becoming normal. The market has opened in Sambhal district on Tuesday morning and people are seen buying goods at the shops.
Shopkeeper Pradeep Kumar told that my shop is very old and the shop was opened only on Monday. However, right now there is a shortage of customers shopping at the shops.
Shopkeeper Suresh Chand said that the market had opened on Monday itself. Right now the situation is normal in the district. With the opening of more shops today, customers are expected to come to the market. The administration controlled the situation well after the incident. Assurance has also been given by the police.
Shopkeeper Mohit Raj told that my ancestors had started the shop and now the third generation is managing the shop. Sambhal is a good city, but Hindu-Muslim unity is eclipsed here. We hope that the situation in the city will improve and the enthusiasm of the customers will be visible again in the markets.
Manoj Bhardwaj said that our shop has been running for the last 40 years. After Sunday’s incident, the situation in the district is now normal and people are also coming for shopping.
Shopkeeper Mujahid Ansari said that there was a worrying atmosphere on Monday, but the situation became normal on Tuesday. Shopkeepers have also been given assurance by the police. Now slowly people are coming for shopping.
It is noteworthy that the survey of Shahi Jama Masjid of Sambhal was done on Sunday (November 24) morning. During this, unruly elements pelted stones at the survey team near the mosque. The atmosphere started deteriorating in no time. The police released tear gas shells to control the situation and also warned the unruly elements. However, four people died during the violence.
