New Delhi, November 12 (IANS). Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had recently given a controversial statement regarding Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs. Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari has hit back on this.
Speaking to IANS, he said, “Mallikarjun Kharge is upset because when he goes to his rallies, no one raises slogans in favor of Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra and Rahul Gandhi. Slogans are raised only in favor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and people say, “If you stay united, you will be safe.” It is sad that despite being such an experienced leader, Kharge’s language style has reached such a low level. All this proves that Kharge has understood that there is no possibility of his forming government in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.”
He further said, “As far as Kharge’s words are concerned, he has alleged horse-trading. If anyone has done horse-trading in the democracy of this country, it has been done by the Congress Party. If anyone has toppled the democratic government of this country, it is the Congress Party that has toppled it. Jawaharlal Nehru had also done the same. I want to tell Kharge that this is a democratic country, it is not run on the basis of your family’s constitution, it is run on the basis of democratic values and principles.”
After this he said on Muslim reservation in Karnataka, “The intention of the Congress Party is that it wants to run India in the same way as the Muslim League used to run it earlier. The Congress Party’s idea is to divide the Hindu society into castes, equate Sanatan Dharma with diseases like dengue, malaria, and AIDS, and advocate giving special reservation to Muslims instead of the Constitution. That is why it talks about Muslim reservation in Maharashtra, supports giving benefits to Muslims in government contracts in Karnataka and promises in its 2009 manifesto that reservation for Muslims will be implemented in the entire country.”
He further said, “This country is run under the Constitution of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and not under the Constitution of the Congress Party’s own “New Muslim League”. This proves that the Congress party does not want the votes of the majority community of this country. They do not care about the majority society, they only do politics of appeasement of Muslim vote bank. This is why leaders like Priyanka Vadra contest elections from Wayanad, where she can get almost 90 percent Muslim votes. “Today the Congress Party has become a new modern Muslim League, which only does the politics of Muslim appeasement.”
