Rekha Jangid of Akhil Bharatiya Janwadi Mahila Samiti said that many micro finance companies are currently operating not only in Sikar but in the entire country. Which in a way is doing the work of usury. They first lure women and give them loans and charge high interest rates in return for this loan.
When someone is unable to repay the loan, they also harass him mentally. If the money is not paid, the recovery agents of the companies come and sit at the house and do things like throwing utensils etc. In Sikar too, many micro finance companies resorted to usury by giving loans to women.
Many people have committed suicide
Jangid said- Many people troubled by usury have committed suicide in the district. We had already informed the district administration about the demand for action against these micro finance companies. But no action was taken so after this a 1 day strike has been given today.
