Smack consignment worth Rs 5 crore seized in Purnia, Bihar, two smugglers arrested

Purnia, December 12 (IANS). After the prohibition law in Bihar, smuggling of smack, ganja and other drugs has increased. However, the police is making continuous efforts to stop drug trafficking. In this series, the police arrested two smugglers with more than five kilograms of smack from the Mufassil police station area of ​​Purnia. The value of the recovered drugs is said to be Rs 5 crore.

According to the police, secret information was received that smack smugglers were bringing a large consignment on Thursday. Based on this information, the police was alert during night patrolling. Meanwhile, the police saw a gray Swift car coming from Maranga on the overbridge of National Highway No. 31 located at Balauri. Seeing the police force, the speed of the car slowed down, then the driver tried to escape by taking a U-turn.

During this time the police also reached the car. After this, the people in the car tried to run away, but were chased and caught by the police. During the search of the car, a total of 5.190 kg of smack and other items wrapped in plastic were recovered from the trunk.

Purnia Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma said that both the people traveling in the car have been arrested, both of whom have been identified as Raunak Kumar and Rikki Singh. Both are said to be residents of Purnia.

It was told that the arrested people used to smuggle smack from outside and then supply it to smugglers in Purnia and surrounding areas. The police is interrogating both the people and trying to find out how far their link extends.
