Special on Jhunjhunu Heritage Day, importance of Vedas was told in Khetri

Jhunjhunu : Jhunjhunu Swami Vivekananda had come to Khetri carrying the flag of Sanatan Dharma in Chicago. About 127 years ago, on 12 December 1897, he gave a lecture on ‘Vedic Religion’ in Khetri. He continued preaching on Vedic religion for about sixty minutes. The people there kept listening to it with their whole heart. After this Swamiji returned to his residence. But the audience remained there. He was so interested in the discourse on Vedas that not even a single listener left the place. When Swami Vivekananda came to know about this, he again came to the sermon venue. He preached again for about thirty minutes. In such a situation, he explained the importance of Vedas and religion for about 90 minutes.

In Sukhmahal of Khetri, Swami Vivekananda said that Vedas are the storehouse of knowledge. These ideas gradually developed, then finally they were given the form of a book and those books became proof. The impact of books also seems to be limitless. The scriptures of Hindus are Vedas. They must be established anew on a foundation of solid rock. The literature of Vedas is vast. These Vedas were written in very ancient and very simple language. Dr. Zulfikar, who is doing research on Swami Vivekananda, told that Swami Vivekananda did a detailed review of Karmakand and Gyankand. He told that Swami Vivekananda stopped speaking here and went to rest. But the audience sat patiently to hear more of the speech.

Desi ghee lamps were lit

Swami Vivekananda was a great man whose high thoughts, spiritual knowledge and cultural experience influenced everyone. When Swami Vivekananda returned to Khetri from Chicago, the then King Ajit Singh along with his councilors and the people of Khetri welcomed him grandly at Pannasar Pond. Khetri was decorated like a bride. The celebration was celebrated by lighting the entire Khetri town with 14 maunds of desi ghee lamps. Filled with this devotion and devotion, Swami Vivekananda came to Khetri thrice (1891, 1893 and 1897). During all three trips, he stayed in Khetri for 109 days and called Khetri his second home. The name was also changed to Vivekananda in Khetri itself.
