10 women and five youths were arrested
Purani Aabadi police station in-charge Jyoti Nayak said that on the instructions of Sriganganagar SP Gaurav Yadav, a raid was conducted late Thursday evening at Hansal Hotel across the road in front of the Central Bus Stand, where 15 persons including 10 women were arrested on charges of prostitution. .
Assistant Superintendent of Police (City) B Aditya said that information was received from the informer that prostitution business is going on in this hotel. On this, action was taken under the leadership of Mahila police station in-charge and acting in-charge of Purani Abadi police station, Sub Inspector Jyoti Nayak, in which 10 girls and five youths were arrested on charges of prostitution.
Case registered under PETA Act
Police station in-charge Sub Inspector Jyoti Nayak told that hotel operator Dheeraj used to call girls from outside and make them available to the hotel customers for sex. Rs 4700 and other objectionable materials have been recovered from Dheeraj’s counter as evidence. He told that a case has been registered against the accused in Mahila Police Station under the Beating Act. Many people had been arrested for prostitution in this hotel earlier also.
Girls were called from outside states
Assistant Superintendent of Police B Aditya said that girls were called from outside states for prostitution, of which Punjab and Haryana were prominent. He told that girls are lured into this business due to the lure of money.
