Sriganganagar Anupgarh police got the cyber fraud amount returned

In two cases of cyber fraud in Sriganganagar : Anupgarh, the police took prompt action and returned an amount of Rs 91 thousand to the victims. In these cases, Sangeeta of Ward No. 10 and Dilip Singh of nearby village 4 APM were cheated online. Based on the complaints of both the victims, action was taken through cyber portal.

First case of cyber fraud

Victim Sangeeta told that she uses Instagram. On October 4, 2024, a person cheated Rs 43 thousand from her in the name of registration through Telegram link by luring her with “work from home” on Instagram. As soon as he realized the fraud, he lodged a complaint at Anupgarh police station.

On the instructions of SP Ramesh Maurya, SHO Anil Kumar handed over the investigation of the case to Constable Dinesh Kumar. Constable Dinesh traced the defrauded amount and seized Rs 41 thousand. Later, on the orders of Anupgarh Court, the amount was deposited back into Sangeeta’s account.

Second case of cyber fraud

On October 30, 2023, Dilip Singh received a call from an international number. The fraudster, claiming himself to be a relative of Dilip, asked for money from him. The fraudster got Dilip to transfer Rs 50 thousand to his account by sending a fake receipt of Rs 9 lakh 45 thousand 436 on WhatsApp.
