Tricks done by overloaded vehicles
DTO Awadhesh Chaudhary said that to reduce road accidents, the Transport and Road Safety Department conducted a special investigation campaign from November 15 to November 17. 105 challans were issued against overloaded and operated vehicles and a fine of Rs 4.22 lakh was collected. Many other challans were issued including 35 overloaded vehicles, 14 vehicles without reflector tape, 10 vehicles without fitness certificate, 13 vehicles without seat belts, nine passenger vehicles.
He said that in the next few days also, action will be taken against vehicles being driven in violation of traffic rules and overloaded. Apart from this, from time to time, campaigns will be conducted by the flying squads of the Transport Department and reflector taps will be installed on the vehicles.
