Sriganganagar court sentenced 5 accused in fraud case

Sriganganagar : Anupgarh ACJM Court Presiding Officer Dr. Sonia Purva has given harsh punishment to five culprits in the 10 year old fake confession case. The culprits in the case have been sentenced to imprisonment and fine under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Additional Public Prosecutor Radhakrishna said that this case is of 2014. Balwant Singh, son of Dal Singh, resident of Hanumangarh had alleged that the culprits embezzled a huge amount of money by cheating two persons by preparing fake documents. A case was registered on this at Anupgarh police station on 4 September 2014.

A total of seven accused, including Naseeb Kaur, Gurcharan Singh, Ranjit Singh, Harbans Singh and stamp vendor Bhagwana Ram Dal, were named in the case. After investigation, the police found these five accused guilty and filed a charge sheet against them in the court.

The court sentenced the culprits under various sections of the Indian Penal Code on the basis of evidence and arguments presented by the prosecution. He was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5000 under sections 420 and 120B, seven years’ rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 7000 under sections 467 and 474, five years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5000 under section 468, and under Section 471 Was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
