Sriganganagar refined soybean oil sample found substandard, fined Rs 2 lakh

Sriganganagar : A fine of Rs 2 lakh has been imposed after the report of refined oil of sweet store in Rawala Mandi of Anupgarh was found to be sub standard. The Food Safety and Medical Department has launched a ‘War for Clean’ campaign in the district. Under which action was taken and samples of refined soybean oil were taken. On Friday, Additional District Magistrate Ashok Sangwa imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on the seller and the owner.

ADM told that Rajuram son Bhanwarlal has Balaji Sweets Store on Khajuwala Road near Jambheshwar Temple in Ward No. 13 of Rawala Mandi. Which was inspected by the then Food Safety Officer on 22 September 2023. During the inspection, samples of four boxes of one kg each of refined soybean oil being used for making namkeen and samosas were taken. The samples taken were sent to Bikaner Food Laboratory for testing. After the sample report came back sub-standard, Additional District Magistrate Ashok Sangwa on Friday gave a verdict under the Food Safety Act and imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on the firm.

ADM said that if any food vendor sells adulterated or low quality food items and that food item is not found to be in accordance with the food safety standards, then appropriate penalty action will be taken against that food vendor.
