Sriganganagar students took oath to create a drug free society

Ratri Chaupal was organized on Thursday at Sriganganagar : Gram Panchayat Delwan. Along with this, drug free youth awareness workshop and rally of drug free India campaign was also organized.

The event was organized by the Government Higher Secondary School under the campaign run by the District Administration and District Police. Vikram Jyani of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment said that the objective of the workshop is to spread awareness about the growing problem of drug addiction and to motivate the youth to protect themselves from its ill effects. In the rally, children and youth raised slogans like ‘Nashe se chahiye azadi’, ‘Say no to drugs’ and ‘Kasam yeh khaayenge, nashe ko door bhagaayenge’. The students took a pledge to build a drug-free society. At Ratri Chaupal, District Council CEO Subhash Chaudhary, Padampur SDM Ajit Godara and Tehsildar Darshana Devi listened to the problems of the common people and advised them to be alert to avoid drug addiction.

CEO Subhash Chaudhary said that we will have to make joint efforts to establish a drug-free society. Youth are the future of our country and every possible step will be taken to save them from this evil. Students, women and elders also participated enthusiastically in this occasion.
