Nagaur News Desk: Subsidized cow sheds of the state have suffered a setback of not getting the installment of the grant. The cows of subsidized cow sheds will not get payment of the increased grant amount in the first phase of the session 2024-25. The increased grant amount will be given as installment of the second phase of this session. The excuse behind this has been that the order to implement the circular issued by the government in the month of September was from the month of October, whereas the verification work for the subsidized cow shelters had already started. If the government had given the increased grant amount in the first installment, then the additional financial burden on the government would have been only about Rs 59 crore, but this would have provided convenience to the cow shelter operators in running the cow shelters.
The financial burden increases so much after receiving increased grant amount.
As per the government’s budget announcement, grant money would have been given to the big and small cows living in 3498 cow sheds of the state. This amount would have resulted in an additional budget burden of only Rs 58 crore 75 lakh 20 thousand 960 on the government. This would provide convenience to the cowherds for the maintenance of their herds. According to officials of the Animal Husbandry Department, at present the subsidized installments of April, May, June and July will come in the first phase, and the installments of December, January, February and March will be given in the second phase. They will get the benefit of increased grant amount in the second installment. Gaushalas will get the increased grant amount in the form of installment of the second phase for the session 2024-25. According to the government’s circular, it will be considered effective from October 1, 2024. Whereas the verification of cowsheds had already been done. The subsidized amount for the first phase will be given only under the pre-determined subsidized amount.
This much grant amount will be received
The number of subsidized cow shelters in the state is 3498. The number of large cattle in this is 10 lakh 89 thousand 956. Whereas the number of small cow breeds is two lakh 68 thousand 92. Under the pre-determined grant amount, Rs 40 per day is given to adult cattle and Rs 20 is given to small cattle. This grant amount was to be given to these Gaushalas on daily basis in the first phase i.e. a total grant of four months at once. A subsidized amount of Rs 5231788800 is to be given for the big cows of these cowsheds of the state. This amount will be available only at the rate of Rs 40 per day for big cows.
Verification happened first, order came later and excused
The 10 percent increased amount announced in the budget will not be given in the first phase of the grant. According to officials of the Animal Husbandry Department, in the circular received from the government in this regard, there is an order to implement it from October 1. In such a situation, grant cannot be given to the cows of cowshalas that have already been verified. According to officials, the order will be followed as per the circular. Due to this, there is dissatisfaction among the cattle farmers, they are not able to oppose it openly. Gaushala operators said that it is good to do the verification work in advance. It would have been better if the government had amended this order. In Nagaur alone, there would have been an increase of one and a half times in the grant amount of about Rs 60 crore 89 lakh 95 thousand 200 received for the big cows in the total 426 subsidized cow shelters.
