Strongly oppose the abuse of US export control measures: Chinese Commerce Ministry

Beijing, December 3 (IANS). A Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesperson responded to reporters’ questions about the US semiconductor export control measures.

The spokesperson noted that the US announced new control measures on semiconductor exports to China on December 2. These measures further tightened restrictions on semiconductor manufacturing equipment, memory chips and other related goods, adding 136 Chinese entities to the export control list.

They also say the measures expand jurisdiction and interfere with China’s trade with third countries, which the spokesperson described as typical economic coercion and non-market practices. The US claims to maintain national security while engaging in unilateral bullying, which China strongly opposes.

The Commerce Ministry spokesperson emphasized the highly globalized nature of the semiconductor industry. The US abuse of control measures has seriously disrupted regular economic and trade exchanges between countries, undermined market rules and the international economic and trade order, and threatened the stability of global industrial and supply chains. Have inserted. This situation has also greatly affected the global semiconductor industry, including American companies. China will take necessary measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
