Successful docking of Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft and space station combination

Beijing, November 16 (IANS). According to the Chinese Manned Space Engineering Office, at 2:32 am Beijing time on November 16, 2024, the Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft successfully docked with the Tianhe core module of the space station after entering orbit. Next, the Shenzhou-19 astronauts will enter the Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft and perform cargo transfer and other related operations as planned.

Let us tell you that the Long March 7-Y9 carrier rocket carrying the Tianzhou-8 cargo spacecraft was launched from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in China’s Hainan Province at 11:13 pm on November 15. About 10 minutes later, the Tianchu-8 cargo spacecraft and rocket successfully separated and entered the predetermined orbit. Subsequently, the spacecraft’s solar panels successfully deployed and the launch was a complete success.

The Shenzhou-8 cargo spacecraft was loaded with consumables, propellant, application experimental equipment and other materials for the astronauts’ stay in orbit, and carried the Shenzhou-19 astronaut crew to China’s Spring Festival for the “New “Goods of the Year” was also sent.
