New Delhi, December 4 (IANS). Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu on Wednesday condemned the attack on Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab, and demanded strict action against the attacker.
Ravneet Singh Bittu said, “The reason why Sukhbir Singh Badal Saheb’s life was saved was that he was near the house of God, and hence Akal Purakh protected him. Next, I want to explain what my battle was. When I had to face Akali Dal and its supporters all the time, these people used to target me. Whether it’s about my grandfather’s murderers, or anything else. I always used to say that these people cannot live with anyone, they can harm anyone.”
He said, “My grandfather had built the country’s largest tunnel, which is located in Gurail Jail, Chandigarh. Narayan Singh Chaura also had a hand in building this tunnel. This man helped in building the tunnel and also did an important job. “It helped in eliminating all those criminals who tried to evade capture.”
The Union Minister said, “I feel that these criminals never get punished. Now I believe that if these people are outside, they can bite you at any time. If people like Narayan Singh Chaura are protected, the court and the police would not have taken any strict action against their arrest. Many times big lawyers, who have connections abroad, come to help them and save them from punishment.”
He said, “I always condemn them and say that their real place is jail. Unless they are kept in jail, they can spoil the environment at any time. Efforts are being made to spoil the atmosphere of Punjab, and this requires a strict investigation.”
