New Delhi, November 29 (IANS). Regarding the recent dispute in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, the Supreme Court has asked the state government to ensure peace and harmony. The Supreme Court made it clear that it is against any kind of violence and violence.
The court said that the state government will have to take all necessary steps to maintain peace. Besides, the court also directed that the tension arising out of the dispute should be resolved soon and social harmony should be maintained in the area. In the Sambhal Masjid case, the Supreme Court issued an important order saying that the survey report should not be made public at present and it should be kept in a sealed envelope. The court also gave the Muslim side an opportunity to challenge the order of the lower court in the higher court.
Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, while talking to the media, said that a petition was filed in the Supreme Court, in which the court expressed its concern towards maintaining peace. He said that it is the responsibility of the government to maintain peace and the Mosque Committee has also been given the opportunity to approach the High Court. The Supreme Court said that the Muslim side has complete freedom to file a petition in the High Court. If he files the petition within three days, the case will be listed in the High Court. The court also ordered that the trial court process be stopped until instructions from the Allahabad High Court come.
Apart from this, the Supreme Court said that the report should be filed in a sealed envelope and there is no restriction on it. After this order, there will now be a temporary stay on the trial court process until the Allahabad High Court gives its instructions. The Muslim side had demanded to quash the order of November 19, 2024, but the Supreme Court has not yet accepted this petition. The court said that all the processes in this case will go through the High Court only and the Muslim side will get a chance to appeal in the High Court.
Let us tell you that after presenting the claim of Harihar temple in Jama Masjid of Sambhal, violence had broken out during the second phase of survey being conducted in the mosque. Police say that during this time, unruly elements pelted stones at the survey team near the mosque. The atmosphere started deteriorating in no time. To control the situation, the police released tear gas shells and also warned the unruly elements. Four people also died during the violence.
Three people were arrested in this case on Thursday, in which 31 people have been arrested so far. The three people arrested by the police on Thursday have been identified as Aamir Pathan, Mohammad Ali and Faizan Abbasi. Earlier, the police had arrested a person named Farhat in the case of disturbing peace late on Wednesday night. Police have identified more than 100 accused on the basis of videos obtained from mobile, CCTV footage and drone cameras, out of which 31 accused have been arrested so far.
