‘Take decision soon in the interest of youth’ Ashok Gehlot again raised demand for student union elections in Rajasthan

Jaipur : There has been a demand for student union elections in Rajasthan for a long time. Its students have protested many times in the past as well. Former government chief minister Ashok Gehlot had banned student union elections before the assembly elections. Which is still going on. But recently, demanding restoration of student union elections, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has posted on social media asking Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to conduct the elections. In which he has written that after the student union elections in Delhi University, the student leaders of Rajasthan will also come to the state. Students are expecting the government to reinstate the union elections.

‘Elections were stopped due to code of conduct’

The former CM further wrote that our government had stopped the student union elections in the election year due to the preparations for the assembly elections and the code of conduct. Student union elections were also banned by the previous BJP government. Which was reinstated when our government came to power in the interest of the youth and to increase youth participation in democracy.

After the student union elections in Delhi University, the student leaders of Rajasthan are also expecting the state government to restore the student union elections. Our government had stopped the student union elections in the election year due to the preparations for the assembly elections and the code of conduct.

‘Student union elections are the first step in politics’

Ashok Gehlot further wrote that student union elections are like the first step of politics. There is no significance of victory or defeat in this. By participating in these, the political understanding of the students increases. In 1972-73, I myself contested the student union elections but was defeated. Despite this, he progressed in politics. In the current politics of Rajasthan, Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, Rajendra Rathore, Raghu Sharma, Mahesh Joshi, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, Harish Chaudhary, Rajkumar Sharma, Hanuman Beniwal, Mahendra Chaudhary, Manish Yadav, Mukesh Bhakar, Vikas Chaudhary. , Ramnivas Gavadiya, Kalicharan Saraf, Chand Kripalani, Ashok Lahoti, Arun Chaturvedi and many MLAs and former MLAs have emerged from the student union.

‘Chief Minister should take decision soon in the interest of youth’

Gehlot further wrote that former Union Minister Late. Arun Jaitley and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat have also emerged from student union politics. The state government should reinstate student union elections to further strengthen youth participation in democracy and for a better future of Rajasthan. I personally appeal to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to take this decision immediately in the interest of the youth.
