Tata Power told the main objective of investment
The company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director Praveer Sinha said at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit that started on Monday that the objective of the company’s investment is to make Rajasthan a power surplus state. “Tata Power’s clean energy blueprint for the state is key to the country’s goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2070 and the state’s ambition to emerge as the next clean energy hub in the country,” Sinha told reporters after the inauguration ceremony. Tata Power’s initiative includes renewable energy projects with an investment of Rs 75,000 crore. This includes solar, wind and hybrid projects along with ‘rooftop’ solar plants, transmission and distribution and EV charging infrastructure in key areas like Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur.
Tata will provide 28000 jobs through investment
The company later said in a statement that this investment is expected to create 28,000 jobs and provide 24-hour, clean, affordable electricity to the people of Rajasthan. Under the ‘Ghar-Ghar Solar Initiative’, Tata Power aims to install rooftop solar power systems in 10 lakh homes, the statement said. For this, the company will install solar plants on about 50,000 rooftops every month.
