Jhalawar : There is good news for the tuberculosis patients across the state including Jhalawar district. The amount of Rs 500 per month given to TB patients by the National Health Mission (NHM) has now been increased to Rs 1,000. Due to which now TB patients of the state will get approximately Rs 14 crore 64 lakh 1600 every month. Whereas till October this amount was only around Rs 7 crore 32 lakh 8000. Now by increasing the amount, TB patients will get some relief from financial problems. According to NHM, malnutrition increases the risk of TB disease. Whereas TB worsens the condition of malnutrition. Addressing malnutrition in TB patients improves response to treatment. The death rate decreases.
For this reason, the amount given to TB patients under the National TB Eradication Program (NEP) under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana (NPY) started in the year 2018 by NHM has been increased from Rs 500 per month to Rs 1,000. This amount has been started to be given to TB patients from November 1. In such a situation, about 3 thousand TB patients in Jhalawar district will get the benefit of the increased amount.

This amount will be given to TB patients in two installments of Rs 3,000 each. In which the first benefit of three thousand rupees will be given in advance at the time of treatment. The second installment will be given after completion of 84 days of treatment. Patients whose treatment will last more than 6 months. They will be given a separate amount of Rs 1,000 per month. There are more than 1.46 lakh TB patients in the state, 3006 TB patients in Jhalawar district, whereas in the entire state, currently 1 lakh 4 thousand 141 TB patients are identified in government and 42275 private hospitals.
