Bundi News Desk: The principal of a government school in Bundi district of Rajasthan had to pay a heavy price for allegedly making obscene comments on a girl. The teacher was beaten up by villagers and later taken into police custody, officials said on Tuesday. Police said the villagers held the principal hostage in a room in the school premises and beat him up.
The principal was repeatedly making lewd comments
The accused has been identified as Sheoji Lal Meena, principal of Government Senior Secondary School, police said. According to police, the incident took place during a sports event at the school on Monday. The Class 12 student accused Meena of misbehaving with her and repeatedly passing lewd comments. Following the girl’s allegations, locals gathered on the premises and held Sheoji Meena hostage in a room of the school. They thrashed him until police intervened and took him into custody, said Mahendra Yadav, in-charge of Nainwa police station.
Departmental inquiry begins against teacher
Based on the complaint, an FIR has been registered under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, Bundi District Education Officer Rajendra Vyas said a departmental inquiry has also been initiated into the matter.
