Alwar News Desk: A leopard entered the residential areas of Behror on Sunday. A leopard was seen around 11 am. After about 7 hours of hard work, he was tranquilized and controlled by the Forest Department team at 6:30 pm. Leopard was caught from a house in Jaitpura locality located on Tasing Road, Behror. The Forest Department team tranquilized the leopard by drilling a hole in the wall. Leopard will be released in Sariska. The leopard was first seen hiding in a pile of wood near Government Higher Secondary School No. 03 in Sabalpura locality at around 11 o’clock. This information was given to the Forest Department at around 12:30. Forest department team from Behror reached the spot. When the search operation was launched, the leopard escaped from there and ran towards the fields. After this he went and hid in an old mansion in Jaitpura locality. On receiving information about the presence of leopard, the police team led by police station officer Mahesh Tiwari reached the spot. Due to the noise of the crowd, Leopard once ran outside towards the street, which caused a stampede.
The team from Sariska caught the leopard
Regional Forest Officer Hansraj Yadav said that a team was called from Sariska to capture the leopard. The team included 15 members including a tranquilize expert doctor. Apart from this, 5 members also arrived from Tatarpur Naka of Kishangarhbas range. At around 2:30 pm, the team of tranquillize expert Dr. Deendayal Meena from Sariska reached Behror. Firecrackers were burst to drive out the leopard, after which he ran on the roofs of the houses and entered another house. Here too, after bursting crackers, he went into the third ruin. Finally at 6:30 pm he was tranquilized and rescued and taken to Sariska.Dr. Deendayal Meena told- It was a male leopard, whose age is about 5-6 years. There was a delay in capturing the leopard due to large crowd and frequent changes in its location. The leopard had come from the surrounding area and has been taken to Sariska.
About 4000 thousand people live in the area
City council councilor Santosh Sharma told that the leopard remained hidden in his mansion and nearby old houses throughout the day. At around 3:30 pm, it passed through the courtyard of his house, the recording of which was captured in the CCTV camera. About 4000 people live in the locality. Since it was Sunday, the children had a holiday, but due to security reasons they were not allowed to leave the house. People of the locality closed the gates of their houses and sat on the rooftops. Everyone heaved a sigh of relief only after the leopard was caught in the evening.
People stood on rooftops all day
Jaitpura residents Pawan Sharma, Ajay Sharma, Rishiraj Singh and Surendra Verma said – We were afraid that the leopard might enter their house and attack someone. They said that as soon as the Sariska team caught the leopard When she was caught and taken away, the people of the area felt relieved. The whole day’s tension ended when the leopard was safely sent to Sariska.
