Testing of agricultural equipment in Bihar Agricultural University, innovation will also get a boost.

Bhagalpur, December 10 (IANS). Agricultural equipment can be tested at Bihar Agricultural University (BAU) located in Sabour, Bhagalpur, Bihar. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India has given official approval for the state-of-the-art Farm Machinery Testing Centre. It was told that after getting this facility, farmers will not need to go to distant centers for testing agricultural machinery and equipment.

This center is located in the Agricultural Engineering Department of BAU. In this, all types of agricultural machinery will be tested, which will ensure quality, reliability and adherence to government standards. A dedicated team has also been formed to oversee the operations of this centre.

BAU Vice Chancellor Dr. DR. Singh said, “This is a transformational step for the farmers of Bihar. Through this centre, we want to provide easy access to high quality machinery and boost agricultural productivity through reliable and tested equipment. This The development reflects our commitment to encourage agricultural innovation and support farmers in the region.”

The center will follow strict guidelines to maintain transparency and efficiency, including in-house calibration of testing equipment, periodic reviews and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports to the ministry.

Additionally, the staff will be provided practical training at reputed institutes like NRFMTTI, Hisar and NERFMTTI (Vishwanath Chariyali, Assam), which will further enhance its technical capability.

Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Public Relations Officer, BAU, said, “The establishment of the Farm Machinery Testing Center at BAU will not only serve the farmers of Bihar, but will also make the university a hub of agricultural mechanization and innovation by providing access to tested and reliable machinery. Will strengthen the agricultural ecosystem and contribute to the agricultural growth of the state.”
