Kota : Under the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), testing of the first Nonera Abra Dam built on the Kali Sindh River in Pipalda Assembly of Kota district of Rajasthan will begin from Sunday. The Water Resources Department will fill this dam with water from September 8 to September 12 and test its gates. All preparations have been completed for this.
Kota-Etawah State Highway will remain closed for 5 days
The Water Resources Department had earlier written a letter to the Kota Collector informing him about this. After this, Kota Collector Dr. Ravindra Goswami had given permission to the Water Resources Department. During this testing, Kota-Etawah State Highway-70 will remain blocked from Sunday and vehicular movement on this route will remain closed from 8 to 12 September.
Kota-Sheopur highway is also completely closed
During the testing, traffic will be closed due to the possibility of water coming into the Kali Sindh river of Dhibri due to filling of water in the dam. In such a situation, Kota Rural SP Karan Sharma has issued a press note saying that due to testing, State Highway 70 Kota-Sheopur highway will be completely blocked and due to the possibility of water coming into this Kali Sindh river between Dhibri and Barod, traffic will not be allowed on this route. He has appealed that drivers can reach Kota by taking their vehicles via Genta Makhida. Also, there is an alternative route to reach Kota via Anta of Baran district. Use this for traffic.
The first dam of ERCP, CM has already visited
The first dam of ERCP is now fully constructed. After the formation of the new government, on February 4 this year, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and the then Union Water Power Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat visited this dam being constructed under Rajasthan’s ambitious project and took the progress report of the project from the officials on the spot. After this, the work on this dam was going on continuously and now it is almost complete. It is to be filled with water from tomorrow and its gates are to be tested.
