Testing of the first dam built under the ERCP project is successful, now people of these districts will get benefit

Jaipur : In Kota district of Rajasthan, the testing work was completed by opening all the 27 gates of the Naunera dam built on the Kalisindh river under the Budhadit Parvati-Kalisindh Chambal Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (PKC-ERCP) at different times on Wednesday. Now the dam will be completely emptied, so the discharge of 3.50 lakh cusecs of water was started by opening 17 gates of the dam simultaneously. The work of the tunnel to be made to fill Isarda and other dams from this dam has not started yet. The work of intake well for water supply has also not been completed.

21 districts will be benefited

Water will reach 158 dams, ponds and other water sources of the state from Naunera dam. In the newly prepared DPR for 21 districts by the Water Resources Department, apart from small and big dams, ponds and other water sources will also be included.

Water will reach Bisalpur-Isarda dam

Water will be transported to Bisalpur and Isarda through canal from Naunera Barrage. Canal system and pumping station will be built at Ramgarh Barrage, Mahalpur Barrage, Naunera and Pumping Station on Mej River.
Also, a 2.6 kilometer long tunnel will be constructed which will be 12 meters wide. Its cost has been estimated to be around 9600 crore rupees. Homework is also being done for the second phase.
