Jaipur : A resident doctor of Sawai Mansingh Hospital has ruined his own career. SMS Hospital Police Station has arrested the resident in the case of raping a female doctor. SHO Sudhir Upadhyay said that SMS Medical College resident Dr. Darshan Singh Rathore has been arrested. The accused was presented in the court on Friday, from where he was sent to jail. The police has taken this action after medical examination of the female doctor and her statement under 164 in the court and investigation.
A woman doctor from Bhopal had registered a rape case against resident Dr. Darshan. The victim had reported to Bhopal police in May. Bhopal police had registered a zero number FIR as the incident took place in Jaipur and sent it to SMS police station for further action. The victim had told in the report that she had met resident Dr. Darshan in a conference held in a hospital in Delhi in January 2023. After that both of them became friends. Then they got engaged on 22 October 2023. After this, the accused called the victim to Jaipur on December 23 and took her to his house near SMS hospital. Here he raped her and refused to marry her in April 2024.
