Jamshedpur, 23 November (IANS). Counting of votes is going on in all the six assembly seats of Jamshedpur. The situation will become clear here in some time. There is an atmosphere of curiosity among all the candidates regarding these seats.
Meanwhile, the statement of Congress candidate Banna Gupta from Jamshedpur West has come to light. While talking to journalists, he seemed completely confident about his victory. He said that he is confident that this time he will win this seat. He claimed that there is an atmosphere in favor of India Block on this seat.
He said, “The public has exercised its franchise fully on this seat. I am completely confident about my victory on this seat. I have no problem in saying that India Bloc is going to win on this seat. A government will be formed here under the leadership of Hemant Soren. We have the blessings of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and Sonia Gandhi. We will do wonders. The whole situation will become clear in some time.”
He further said, “This time you will see the principles of democracy being strengthened here. Our party and our leaders have always been advocating the principles of democracy and will continue to do so in future also.”
When the LED screens installed in the strong room blacked out last night, he said, “This is a matter of serious concern. Apart from this, this also raises questions on the credibility of the Election Commission. Our party cannot accept this kind of situation at any cost. It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to find out how and why all this happened. After all, whose carelessness was behind this that the CCTV remained switched off for so long. The way the CCTV remained switched off at first and then it switched on automatically. Certainly some carelessness is visible in this. Its investigation should be ensured.”
Let us tell you that the CCTV camera got switched off late night at the Cooperative College, the counting venue of Jamshedpur. There was a commotion among the people when the display of the camera went off. Meanwhile, party workers said that CCTV footage had been installed for the same people so that they could see the entire situation. But, the display of CCTV footage remained closed for 40 minutes. When other officials were questioned about this, they said that this happened due to some technical glitch, which would be rectified soon.
