The biggest threat to the Constitution was the time when Congress government imposed emergency: SP Baghel

New Delhi, December 11 (IANS). Due to the ongoing deadlock between the ruling party and the opposition in the Parliament and Congress leaders often showing the copy of the Constitution, Minister of State in the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy and Panchayati Raj, S.P. Baghel reminded the Congress of its “attempt to destroy democracy by imposing emergency”.

S.P. Baghel said, “The biggest threat that was or is or has been to the Constitution was on June 25, 1975, when Indira Gandhi imposed emergency after losing the case in the Allahabad High Court. The biggest threat from the entire opposition of the country Small leaders were sent to jail in DIR and MISA. This included Jaiprakash Narayan, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lal Krishna Advani.

He said that the one who took away the freedom of expression, the one who took away the freedom of the press, looks ridiculous when we talk about the Constitution today. At that time, Jayaprakash Narayan was also stopped and his kidney got damaged and he had to go on dialysis. The book of the Constitution kept on my table is missing a few pages. Those pages were torn and thrown away by Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother. He had imposed emergency in the country. That was a dark day for democracy. Now the same people talk about saving the Constitution. Let’s bring copies of the Constitution. They are using the Constitution as a toy which is not appropriate. The Constitution is held with great respect.

He said, “Rahul Gandhi tried to mislead all the people in 2024. He said that if BJP gets more than 400 seats, it will change the Constitution. People were misled by him, but even after this, these people did not form the government. Get.”
