The economic condition of the tribal farmers residing in the Pratapgarh forest area will improve.

Pratapgarh : To increase the income of tribal farmers living in the forests of Pratapgarh state, the government has started distribution of seeds of improved varieties of wheat and lentils under the Dharti Aaba Tribal Utkarsh Abhiyan. This will greatly help in food dependence of the farmers living in the forests. Under which seeds of improved varieties of wheat and lentils are being distributed. Under the scheme, farmers holding Forest Rights Act lease living in the forests of the state are getting its benefits. Under the scheme, minikits of seeds are being distributed by the Agriculture Department to the leaseholder farmers. It is noteworthy that under the Chief Minister Seed Swavalban Yojana and SMSP Seed Village Program, during Rabi 2024-25, seeds of improved varieties are being distributed free of cost to the farmers holding leases under forest rights for the production of wheat crop seeds. Similarly, in order to promote the rapid spread of new varieties and hybrid varieties of pulse crops, free lentil seed minikits are being distributed to farmers holding Forest Rights Act leases. Under the scheme, eight thousand farmers living in the forests of Pratapgarh district will benefit from the scheme.

Benefits to ST farmers living in forests of eight districts

Under the said scheme, benefits will be available in 8 districts of the state. In which the lease holders of forest rights can be benefited. These include Banswara, Salubar, Pratapgarh, Udaipur, Dungarpur, Sirohi, Pali, Chittorgarh districts. Minikits of lentils will be distributed in these districts. Whereas wheat seeds are being distributed to the farmers of Banswara, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Udaipur and Sirohi districts. In Pratapgarh, lentils are being given to three thousand and wheat seeds to five thousand.
