The famous Mundiya Purnima fair in Rajasthan begins on July 15, advance booking starts now

Bharatpur : Mundiya Purnima Mela will start from July 15 at Girirajji’s place of faith for crores of people, which will last for about a week. Even though the fair is a week away, the administration has started preparations. The administration has started making traffic strategies along with security arrangements in the fair. On Sunday, under the leadership of Deeg Tehsildar Jugita Meena, the police and administration team took action to remove temporary encroachment from the 1.5 km Parikrama Marg.

Tehsildar Jugita Meena said that Mudia Purnima fair is starting from July 15 in Govardhan and will continue till July 22. During this time, lakhs of devotees will reach to perform parikrama of Govardhan Maharaj. Out of the seven Koshi Parikrama route of Govardhan, one and a half kilometer Parikrama route falls in Pookhari village located in Deeg district of Rajasthan. In view of the fair, along with ASP Gumna Ram and Sadar police station in-charge Ashutosh, action was taken to remove temporary encroachment from the Parikrama route with the help of JCB. Apart from this, the work of tightening the loose electrical wires and putting soil in the Parikrama route is being done.

Advance booking in hotels, guest houses and Dharamshalas
The police administration has identified security points on the 1.5 km long Parikrama Marg. Also, the fair will be monitored by 4 watch towers and 16 CCTV cameras. For security purposes, policemen will be deployed at every nook and corner of the Parikrama Marg. On the Mudia Purnima, which is held in the month of Ashadh, lakhs of devotees reach to do the Parikrama of Govardhan Maharaj. In view of the crowd of lakhs of devotees in the fair, the UP and Rajasthan governments together manage the arrangements. Even before the fair, most of the people have done advance booking of all the hotels, guest houses and dharamshalas on the Parikrama Marg.

Facilities provided for devotees
To serve the people who come for the Parikrama, people set up drinking water stalls and bhandaras at various places, while the administration provides facilities like parking of vehicles, drinking water, cleanliness, light, lost and found, health camps etc. in the fair to provide better facilities to the devotees. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma organizes bhandaras in this Mudia Purnima fair, which he has been doing for about 20 years and this time too, a bhandara will be organized by him.
