Jaipur : A decision is to be taken today on 17 new districts and three divisions of Rajasthan formed by the previous Congress government. A meeting of the Cabinet Sub Committee has been called today to discuss the report of the committee headed by retired IAS Lalit K. Pawar constituted to review the new districts and divisions. In this meeting, many other points including the administrative needs of the new districts will be discussed. It is believed that the government can cancel 5.6 districts.
Let us tell you that after the investigation report of the new districts was submitted to the government, a meeting of the Cabinet Sub Committee was held on 2 September. In which the report of Lalit K Panwar Committee was discussed. In this, there was a suggestion to merge some small districts, because the committee believes that many small districts are not practical. However, no decision has been taken on the new districts. In such a situation, it is believed that the future of the new districts can be decided in today’s meeting.
Decision can be taken on these districts
Many new districts created during Gehlot’s rule are small in size. In such a situation, other parts of the nearby district can be merged by adding them. Small districts include Dudu, Khairthal Tijara, Kekri, Salumber, Sanchore and Shahpura. Apart from this, a decision can also be taken on Deeg, Gangapur City, Kotputli-Baharod, Neemkathana, Anupgarh and Phalodi. Apart from this, rural and urban areas of Jaipur and Jodhpur can be merged.
