Jaipur : A major theft incident has come to light during an engagement ceremony at the Miracle Marriage Garden in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Two miscreants, who had come to the function posing as guests, stole a bag full of jewelery and cash during the wedding ceremony. The incident was revealed through CCTV footage, in which the actions of the thieves are clearly visible. The police are now searching for the thieves.
How did the theft happen?
The incident took place on Tuesday night, when the engagement ceremony of the son of Shravan Kumar Chaudhary, resident of Kalwad Road, was taking place at Miracle Marriage Garden. During the engagement ceremony, the groom’s sister kept the bag in her hand near her female relative and went on the stage to get photographed. Meanwhile, two miscreants took advantage of the woman’s ignorance and stole the bag kept near the chair. The bag contained jewelery worth Rs 13 lakh and Rs 8 thousand in cash.
How was the theft discovered?
The theft was discovered when the groom’s sister returned to collect the bag. The bag was missing and the police was informed. Police reached the spot and started investigation and analyzed CCTV footage. It is clearly visible in the footage that both the miscreants were sitting near the woman and watching the stage programme. As soon as the woman looked away, a miscreant secretly picked up the bag and both of them ran away. They went in different directions to avoid each other.
Trying to identify thieves from CCTV footage
Harmada police station is now trying to identify the thieves on the basis of the footage. According to the police, the appearance of the thieves and their clothes have been captured in the footage, from which they are expected to be identified soon. In this theft case, the police have intensified the investigation and have started searching for the thieves in the surrounding areas.
