Jaipur : Police in Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur has made a disclosure. Police have arrested a woman and her accomplice for extorting Rs 50 lakh by trapping an accountant in a honeytrap case. The accountant used to work in an office in Vidyadhar Nagar area in Jaipur. When the owner was not there, the accountant would take out bundles of notes from the cupboard and then make video calls to his friends and other colleagues to show off his status.
The accused is a resident of Churu district in Shekhawati
The accountant got acquainted with a woman on social media. He started making video calls to the woman to trap her in his trap. Not only this, the accountant also sent videos of notes to the woman. On the night of 21st June, the woman made the accountant drink a drugged cold drink and then made him unconscious and robbed 50 lakh rupees. Police have now caught the mastermind Prabhati Devi alias Deepti and her lover Imran in the case. About 35 lakh rupees have been recovered from them. Apart from this, four accused are still absconding in the case, whom the police is searching for. According to the police, all the accused are residents of Churu district in Shekhawati.
After the incident, both of them went to visit Uttarakhand.
The police have arrested Prabhati Devi and her lover Imran on the basis of footage from about 300 CCTV cameras. After the incident, both of them went to Uttarakhand for a trip. Prabhati Devi is a divorcee who was in touch with Imran for some days. After the incident, these people had also divided the money among themselves.
