It is believed that the idol of Ganesh Ji installed in this temple is full of miracles. The most interesting thing about this idol installed centuries ago in the Ganesh temple located at Fatehpur Gate of the city is that this idol is made of clay. Even after this, it does not melt in water when it is anointed with water. The place where this idol has been installed receives a lot of rain during the monsoon season. Due to which water reaches the temple and the Ganesh idol remains completely immersed in water. But still this idol has not melted till date.

It does not melt even after being immersed in water
Talking about the history of the temple, this idol installed in the temple located near Fatehpuri Gate reached Sikar city in ancient times through two princely states Patoda and Kasli. Historian Mahavir Puropit tells that Rao Raja Devi Singh of Sikar brought the idol of Ganesh ji from Kasli to Sikar after defeating his enemy, the ruler of Kasli princely state Purna Singh in the war. Raja Devi Singh ruled Sikar in 1840. At that time, the ruler of Kasli princely state Purna Singh was very powerful and arrogant. He would repeatedly attack the gate of the fort complex built towards Nani village of Sikar with a spear, scare the soldiers and challenge the king of Sikar for war.
Even the cannonballs had become ineffective
Fed up with the arrogant ruler of Kasli, Purna Singh, the soldiers posted at Nani Gate told the whole thing to Raja Devi Singh. On this, the king sent one of his trusted soldiers to convince the ruler of Kasli. The ruler of Kasli killed him at that time, due to which Raja Devi Singh got angry and attacked the Kasli state. Cannonballs were also fired on the state, all of which proved ineffective. Still, the king of Sikar attacked Kasli several times, but every time he had to face defeat. After this, when the Sikar king found out the reason for this, it came to light that there is a miraculous idol of Ganesh ji in the Kasli state, which removes the troubles coming on the Kasli state. Due to which the shells fired in the war are also proving ineffective.
Sikar was brought after winning the battle from Kasli
After knowing this, King Devi Singh consulted the royal priests and pundits on this matter. On their advice, he sat on his knees in the battlefield and prayed to please Lord Ganesha. The king of Sikar prayed to Lord Ganesha for victory in the war to punish the ruler Purna Singh for his sins for the arrogance of the Kasli state and for killing his commander. After which the king of Sikar attacked Kasli and he won the war. After this, the Kasli state was included in the Sikar state and this miraculous idol of Lord Ganesha obtained from Kasli was installed near Fatehpur Gate in front of Sikar Fort in the name of Vijay Ganesh. That is why Fatehpuri Gate is also known as Vijay Ganesh. From then till today, people’s faith in the first worshiped Lord Ganesha installed in Fatehpur Gate of Sikar city kept increasing.
