The money received for the development of Sirohi Nakki lake is spent on sewerage, all hopes are spoiled.

Sirohi : Sirohi Tourist Place Mount Abu’s historical Nakki Lake is proving to be a goose that lays golden eggs in the form of revenue for the Municipality, yet it is yearning for development. Despite being selected for national lake conservation nearly two decades ago, Nakki Lake is yearning for development. The amount sanctioned for lake conservation was also spent on other development works due to the negligence of the officials. In such a situation, Nakki is still yearning for development.

Development did not happen due to indifference of officials

experts According to the National Lake Conservation Plan, when the plan was made at a cost of Rs 8 crore 80 lakh, people had many hopes for the lake conservation, but when this amount was approved, due to the indifference of the concerned authorities, neither development nor development of Nakki Lake took place. This could not be done, nor could the amount from this item be used for any work of the lake.

This development work was to be done in Nakki Lake

Municipality If sources are to be believed, the development of Nakki Lake, Pushkar, Annasagar, Pichola, Fatehsagar of the state was selected under the National Lake Conservation Scheme under the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests. Due to which PD contracted in 2004. According to the assessment done by the Core Institute, installation of chemical, biological, oxygen fountains, water storage purification of the lake, replenishment of the lake in case of water shortage, repair of catchment areas, cleanliness, construction of 13 feeder check dams in the upper hilly areas, The hills around the lake, beautification of the gardens, intensive plantation, proper utilization of water flowing from the leakage and seepage of the lake, Dhobi Ghat on the lower side of the lake. There were plans to construct a reservoir by building a dam near the lake, to make effective arrangements to ensure that the lake water is not used for any other purpose including drinking, to install purification equipment to balance the water, etc.

This is how the hopes of the citizens were dashed.

Information According to the National Lake Conservation Scheme approved in 2005, out of the amount given for the development of Nakki Lake, in 2010, due to the indifference of the then senior officials, an amount of about Rs. 6 crores was given for the sewerage scheme, dashing the hopes of the citizens. Whereas as per rules earlier this amount was sanctioned only for lake conservation. Separately, in the first phase, a sewerage scheme worth Rs 34.36 crore including laying of treatment plant, trenchless tunnel and underground line was approved. In which the amount of Nakki Conservation Scheme was adjusted. Under the National Lake Conservation Scheme, an amount of Rs 8.80 crore was approved to Mount Abu Municipality in 2005. Out of which, in 2010, information was received that about six crore rupees were given to Rudiff for laying sewerage line on the instructions of high officials. No details are available as to how the remaining amount was used. Due to which there is immense anger among the residents of Mount Abu. This will be investigated. The regional MP will again be requested to provide funds for lake conservation.
