City Palace was closed since November 25 due to fear of dispute. Whereas from November 26, the District Magistrate had imposed restrictive orders here. After the demise of former royal family member Mahendra Singh Mewar, a turban was made on his son Nathdwara MLA Vishwaraj Singh Mewar at Chittor Fort on November 25. After which he had a plan to visit the Dhuni site at City Palace in Udaipur. Meanwhile, all the gates of the palace were closed by the other side. When Vishvaraj Singh reached City Palace in the evening, he found the main gate closed. In such a situation, he and his supporters remained adamant on going to the City Palace for darshan. The entire administration was trying to reach a consensus by holding talks between the two parties, but no solution was found. During this period tension increased in the area. By nightfall there was stone pelting outside the palace.

The police controlled the situation by using mild force. The next day, on November 26, District Magistrate Arvind Poswal imposed restrictive orders within a radius of five hundred meters from Jagdish Chowk area and Rangnivas Tourism Police Station area. Under which the area of ​​Ghantaghar and Surajpol police stations comes. The dispute ended on the third day on Wednesday after the intervention of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Under which the administration reached an agreement between both the parties and made former royal family member Vishvaraj Singh Mewar visit the Dhuni site located at City Palace. Earlier in the morning, he reached Kailashpuri and had darshan of the worshipable Lord Eklingnath of Mewar. After the dispute ended, peace remained throughout the day on Thursday. Meanwhile, the District Magistrate withdrew the prohibitory order. Earlier, the police removed the barricades in front of Jagdish Chowk.

On the other hand, former royal family member Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar himself came and opened the main gate of the City Palace at 6:30 pm on Thursday evening. During this, while interacting with the media, he said that now Udaipur city will return in an atmosphere of harmony. The gates of the City Palace will remain open for tourists. Tourists will be able to come face to face with the historical heritage of Mewar. He expressed gratitude to all the people who cooperated in the entire matter. Earlier, due to the dispute that lasted for four days, the tourists who had come to visit Udaipur had to return disappointed. The business of shopkeepers in the markets of this area was also affected by this.

Palace side presented reply in receivership case

On the other hand, the matter of taking some part of the palace into receivership by the administration is in the ADM court. In this matter, the reply has been presented by the City Palace side as per the due date. ADM court will give decision in the case.

Gates opened for tourists

The prohibitory order has been lifted as the atmosphere became calm. The gates have been opened for tourists by the palace management. Now the situation is normal.
