After the industrial areas of Churu and Sardarshahar, now handicraft industry is emerging as a possibility in Taranagar. Young entrepreneurs have entered Taranagar industrial area through handicraft industry. Therefore, if the government, through the Industries Department and RIICO, provides a package for this area and also takes initiative for its development, then this possibility can turn into a positive outcome. Furniture and granite made in handicraft industry are getting outside market. More or less finished goods have started being exported from here but all other facilities including transportation are lacking here.
Lack of basic facilities like water and electricity: Industrial area entrepreneurs OP Aggarwal, Salim Hisaria, Rizwan Hisaria and Chunnilal Prajapat said that this industrial area is struggling for basic needs like electricity and water. There is a great lack of basic facilities like roads, sewerage, cleanliness, greenery etc.
The industrial area is connected to the power line of Taranagar city due to which there is no electricity for many hours. Due to continuous movement of electricity, work at the factory comes to a halt and production gets affected. Due to which entrepreneurs have to suffer financial losses. Entrepreneurs say that by installing GSS in industrial areas, there should be a separate arrangement for power supply, so that the industries get electricity on time.
Electricity infra is also disorganized
Although the industrial sector entrepreneurs associated with the city’s power supply are troubled by the faltering power supply, the infrastructure of the haphazard power system here is making up for it. Due to which even the entry of vehicles is facing problem. The electric wires hanging from the electric poles are so low that even the trucks coming to the industrial area hesitate to go even to the factories. The condition of lighting is such that it is dark at night and sometimes the lights remain on during the day.

In the industrial area, there are factories of interlock, granite, pulse meal, guar gum meal, agro chemical and handicraft etc. Many workers are getting employment through these industries but due to lack of facilities the entrepreneurs are facing problems.

After a long wait, a water tank was built here, due to which water connections were made in some factories, but due to lack of regular water supply, the entrepreneurs here have to arrange drinking water through tankers. In many industries water connections to the tank have not been made yet.
Neither drains nor sewerage
There is no arrangement for sewerage and drains for disposal of dirty water in the industrial area. Pits are dug in front of the factory and dirty water is left in them. Due to lack of cleanliness and garbage collection by the municipality, there are piles of filth and garbage at many places. Not only this, dead animals are being dumped in the garbage heaps on both sides of the main road here. Due to which entrepreneurs and workers are facing a lot of problems.
