Jaipur News Desk: As usual, the tradition of by-election for the last 28 years in the assembly seat of Jhunjhunu district remained intact this time too. In the trend that has been going on till now, the party whose MLA won in the general assembly elections, lost in the by-elections. If we look at the 6 by-elections held so far in Jhunjhunu district, their results have been opposite to the general elections. Four by-elections in the district have been held after MLAs were elected as MPs, while two elections have been held on seats left vacant due to the death of MLAs. In all these elections, the party whose MLA won at the time of assembly elections. That party had to face defeat in the by-elections.

A tradition continues for 28 years

In these, by-elections were held in Jhunjhunu when Shishram Ola became MP, Surajgarh when Santosh Ahlawat became MP and Mandawa when Narendra Kumar Khichad was elected MP. Now, after Brijendra Ola became MP, by-elections have been held on Jhunjhunu seat. Earlier, by-elections were held in Khetri in 1988 on the death of the then Khetri MLA Malaram and in 1982 in Mandawa on the death of the then Mandawa MLA Lachchuram.

Political information: Radheshyam Bharti says that in 1993, Shishram Ola was elected MLA from Jhunjhunu assembly seat from Congress. He defeated Sanwarmal Verma of BJP by 22898 votes. In the Lok Sabha elections held in 1996, Shishram Ola Tiwari became MP from Congress. After this, in the by-election held in 1996, Congress gave ticket to Brijendra Ola. Here Dr. Mulsingh Shekhawat of BJP won by more than 12500 votes. Brijendra Ola of Congress had to face defeat. In the 2013 elections, Santosh Ahlawat of BJP was elected MLA in Surajgarh by a margin of 50219 votes. He defeated Shravan Kumar of Congress.

After winning the assembly elections, lost in the by-elections.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, she was elected MP on BJP ticket. Then in the by-election held in September 2014, BJP gave ticket to Dr. Digambar Singh and Congress’s Shravan Kumar won by 3270 votes. In 2018, BJP’s Narendra Kumar Khichad became MLA from Mandawa by winning the election by a margin of 2346 votes. He defeated Rita Chaudhary of Congress. After this, Narendra Kumar Khichad was elected MP in 2019.

According to Radheshyam Bharti, apart from this, by-elections were held on two assembly seats of the district after the death of MLAs. The party that won the general election could not retain its seat in the by-election.
Then in the by-election, BJP fielded Sushila Sigra, who lost to Rita Choudhary of Congress. Rita Chaudhary won by 33704 votes. Now after Brijendra Ola became MP, by-elections were held on Jhunjhunu seat. Congress had fielded Amit Ola as its candidate, but he also lost. Which was the trend of the last by-election. That was seen in this election. That is, the party whose MLA won in the general elections in the district has lost in the by-elections.

BJP’s Malaram was elected MLA in Khetri in 1985. He defeated Naresh Pal Singh of Congress by a margin of 3266 votes. After his death, Dr. Jitendra Singh of Congress won the by-election held in 1988. BJP’s Hazarilal Gurjar had to face defeat in the by-election. So, in the 1980 assembly elections, Lachchuram of Janata Party (Secular) became MLA from Mandawa. After his death, Ramnarayan Choudhary of Congress won the by-election held in 1982.
