And in 1463, Bijal Chhatri was constructed on the way to the temple and a pond was constructed at the foot of the hill. In the 16th century, this town became free from the Chauhan dynasty and came under the Rathore dynasty. The rulers of this dynasty also had deep faith in the Mother Goddess. It is said that Tej Singh Rathore, ruler of the Rathore dynasty, built a tibara (a house or room with three doors) in the southern part of the main temple in 1671. Chauth Mata is the family goddess in Bundi royal family.

Apart from this, due to deep faith, Chauth Mata is worshiped as the family goddess since the time of Bundi royal family. There is also a Chauth Mata market in Kota named after Mata, while some people believe that the Chauth Mata temple was established by the Jaipur royal family, when Rao Madho Singh settled Sawai Madhopur, during the same time a temple was built here too. Because Rao Madho Singh worshiped Mata as the clan goddess, it is said that once during the war, the husband of a woman named Mateshi died, on this the woman insisted on committing sati with her husband, then Rao Madho Singh Baned the practice of Sati and did not allow the woman to commit Sati, on this the woman appealed to the Mother Goddess to spare her husband’s life. On this, the mother brought the woman’s husband back to life by giving him life, since then women all over Rajasthan observe Chauth Mata fast in the name of the mother.
